Max Merrick

Max Merrick is an English goalkeeper born in High Wycombe on 10 November 2005. He developed through grassroots football and the FAB Football Academy before joining Chelsea at Under-13 level, progressing through the club’s academy. In 2022/23, Merrick made 11 appearances for Chelsea Under-18s, debuted in the UEFA Youth League and moved into senior football through a loan spell at Hanwell Town. He became a regular for Chelsea Under-21s in 2024/25 after contributing to the club’s FA Youth Cup campaign, while also earning a place on the senior bench for an FA Cup tie against Aston Villa. Merrick later joined Hampton & Richmond Borough and made 19 senior appearances during that spell. He has also been involved with England Under-20s and named in Chelsea senior squads for European competition.
