Max Alleyne

Max Alleyne is an English defender who developed at Southampton before joining Manchester City’s academy in 2021. He was fast-tracked into Southampton’s Under-18 side during the 2020–21 season, highlighting his early progress. At City, Alleyne helped win U18 Premier League titles in 2021–22 and 2022–23, Premier League 2 titles in 2022–23 and 2024–25, and the FA Youth Cup in 2023–24. He was named Manchester City U21 Player of the Year in May 2025 after establishing himself as a composed, ball-playing centre-back. For 2025–26, he joined Watford on loan, where 16 appearances gave him experience of the Championship’s physical demands. Manchester City recalled him in January 2026, and he made his Premier League debut against Brighton on 7 January before scoring on his FA Cup debut against Exeter City three days later. Alleyne has also represented England at Under-20 and Under-21 level, while his 1.85-metre frame supports aerial work and his distribution helps teams build from defence.
