Matis Carvalho

Matis Carvalho is a Portuguese goalkeeper born in Nantes, France, on 28 April 1999. He developed at Toulouse, joining the club’s academy in 2014 before progressing to its reserve side. Carvalho then moved to Montpellier in 2019, where he continued his development with the club’s second team. His senior breakthrough came on 1 February 2020, when he made his professional debut against Paris Saint-Germain in Ligue 1, a match Montpellier lost 5–0. He remained part of Montpellier’s goalkeeping group through the following seasons, gaining further top-flight experience. Carvalho represented Portugal at under-19 level, adding international exposure to his French club education. In September 2023, he joined Le Puy Foot, where the goalkeeper took on a more regular role and became an experienced presence behind the defence.
