Matheus de Barros da Silva

Matheus Silva, full name Matheus de Barros da Silva, is a Brazilian right-back born on 3 October 1997 in Marituba, Brazil. He developed at Paysandu and was part of the squad that won the Copa Verde in 2018. Silva moved to Bahia, making his professional debut in a Campeonato Brasileiro Série B match against Fluminense de Feira in January 2019. In August 2020, he joined Portuguese club Moreirense, where his time was primarily developmental. He moved to Lokomotiv Plovdiv in July 2022 and established himself in Bulgaria, recording 36 league appearances and two goals. Qarabag signed Silva in August 2023, giving him a new platform in the Azerbaijan Premier League and European competition. At Qarabag, he is primarily a right-back, with the versatility to operate as a right midfielder or centre-back. His career traces a progression from northern Brazil through Portugal and Bulgaria to Azerbaijan.
