Matheus Lima Magalhães

Matheus Lima Magalhães is a Brazilian goalkeeper born in Belo Horizonte on 29 March 1992. He developed at América Mineiro from 2008 to 2011 and entered the club’s senior squad in 2012, making 61 league appearances. In 2014, Matheus moved to SC Braga in Portugal, beginning an 11-season spell that established him as a central figure for the club. He won the Taça de Portugal in 2015–16 and 2020–21, and the Taça da Liga in 2019–20 and 2023–24. Braga also became his main European stage, and in 2023 he surpassed the club’s record for European appearances by a goalkeeper. After seeking a new challenge, he joined AFC Ajax on loan in early 2025 before moving permanently to FK Crvena Zvezda in July. At 1.90 metres, Matheus combines close-range shot-stopping with proactive movement off his line and distribution from the back.
