Martim Carvalho Neto

Martim Carvalho Neto, commonly known as Martim Neto, is a Portuguese midfielder born in Viana do Castelo on 14 January 2003. He joined Benfica’s academy in 2015 after beginning his development with Perspetiva em Jogo and CB Póvoa Lanhoso. At Benfica, Neto progressed through the youth ranks and helped the Under-19 side win the UEFA Youth League in 2021/22, followed by the 2022 Under-20 Intercontinental Cup. He made his Benfica B debut in March 2021 and later appeared for the senior side in May 2022. Loans to Gil Vicente and Rio Ave gave Martim Neto regular Primeira Liga experience, with his role developing into a more combative, box-to-box midfield profile. In 2025, he moved permanently to Elche, where the 1.85-metre midfielder continues his career in Spain’s La Liga.
