Marcos Aoás Corrêa

Marquinhos, whose full name is Marcos Aoás Corrêa, is a Brazilian defender born in São Paulo on 14 May 1994. He developed at Corinthians, joined the academy in 2002, made his senior debut in 2012 and was part of the squad that won that year’s Copa Libertadores. Later in 2012, Marquinhos moved to AS Roma, where he established himself during a single season and helped the club reach the 2013 Coppa Italia final. Paris Saint-Germain signed him in 2013, and he initially covered centre-back and right-back before becoming a regular starter. After Thiago Silva’s departure in 2020, Marquinhos became PSG captain and developed into a leader who contributes to defensive organisation and build-up play. He made his Brazil debut in 2013, won Olympic gold in 2016 and lifted the Copa América in 2019. In 2025, Marquinhos captained PSG to their first UEFA Champions League title, completing the club’s continental treble.
