Marcos Alonso Mendoza
Marcos Alonso is a Spanish left-back born in Madrid on 28 December 1990. He developed in the Madrid system and made his senior debut for Real Madrid in 2010. He then moved to Bolton Wanderers, where he spent three seasons and was named The Bolton News Player of the Year in 2013. Alonso joined Fiorentina that year and later spent the second half of the 2013–14 season on loan at Sunderland. In 2016, Chelsea signed him, and his attacking wing-back play helped the club win the Premier League in 2016–17. He was also part of Chelsea’s Champions League-winning campaign in 2021. Alonso returned to Spain with Barcelona in 2022, winning La Liga in 2022–23. He subsequently joined Celta Vigo, where his experience has supported a transition toward centre-back duties while retaining his left-footed distribution and attacking instincts.
