Marc Roca Junqué

Marc Roca is a Spanish defensive midfielder born in Vilafranca del Penedès on 26 November 1996. He developed at Atlètic Vilafranca before joining Espanyol’s academy in 2008, later making his senior debut for the reserve side in 2014. Roca reached Espanyol’s first team in 2016 and made his La Liga debut that August, establishing himself as a deep-lying midfielder who helped progress possession and control tempo. In 2020, he transferred to Bayern Munich, where he won Bundesliga titles and the FIFA Club World Cup while competing for opportunities in a strong midfield. Seeking regular football, he joined Leeds United in 2022 and experienced the Premier League before moving to Real Betis after Leeds’ relegation. The move initially came as a loan and became permanent in 2024. Roca also represented Spain at youth level and was part of the team that won the 2019 UEFA European Under-21 Championship.
