Manuel García Alonso

Manu García, the commonly used name of Manuel García Alonso, is a Spanish attacking midfielder born in Oviedo on 2 January 1998. He began developing with Astur CF before joining Sporting Gijón’s academy and moving to Manchester City as a teenager. García made his senior City debut in 2015 and later made a Premier League appearance, before loan spells included Alavés, NAC Breda and Toulouse. At NAC Breda, he helped the club win promotion to the Eredivisie and established himself as a creative passer. He returned to Spain with Sporting Gijón in 2019, then continued his career with Alavés and Aris Thessalonikis. At Aris, García scored his first professional hat-trick in 2023. He joined Sporting Kansas City in 2025, adding an MLS chapter to a career built around vision, ball progression and attacking midfield play.
