Michael Zetterer
Michael Zetterer is a German goalkeeper born in Munich on 12 July 1995. He began at DJK Darching and joined SpVgg Unterhaching’s youth system at ten, later making his senior debut against Hallescher FC in March 2014. Werder Bremen signed him in January 2015, but recurring hand injuries restricted his progress and kept him out for an extended period. He rebuilt match fitness with loan spells at Austria Klagenfurt in 2019 and PEC Zwolle from 2019 to 2021, gaining experience in Austrian and Dutch football. Returning to Bremen, Zetterer made his Bundesliga debut on 11 September 2022 and gradually developed into a goalkeeper valued for distribution and proactive positioning. In 2023/24, he displaced Jiří Pavlenka and recorded six clean sheets in 27 appearances for Werder Bremen. Zetterer joined Eintracht Frankfurt in August 2025, continuing his career as a modern, ball-playing goalkeeper.
