Mattia Zaccagni

Mattia Zaccagni is an Italian forward born in Cesena in 1995. He developed in Bellaria Igea Marina’s youth system and made his professional debut for the club in Lega Pro during the 2012–13 season. He then joined Hellas Verona, initially featuring for the club’s Primavera side before loan spells with Venezia and Cittadella. Returning to Verona, Zaccagni established himself in senior football and became a creative attacking player, capable of operating from wide areas or between midfield and attack. His breakthrough came during the 2020–21 campaign, when he scored an overhead kick against Spezia and played a central role in Verona’s attacking transitions. In 2021, Zaccagni moved to Lazio, where he developed further as a left-sided forward and increased his goal threat. He also became an Italy international, scoring a stoppage-time equaliser against Croatia at Euro 2024 to help Italy reach the knockout stage.
