Matevž Vidovšek

Matevž Vidovšek is a Slovenian goalkeeper born in Slovenj Gradec on 30 October 1999. He began his development with Dravograd before moving to Atalanta’s youth ranks in 2016. During his time in Italy, Vidovšek spent periods on loan with Pescara and Reggina 1914, and he later joined Cyprus’ Ayia Napa. In January 2021, he moved to Olimpija Ljubljana, where he established himself after waiting for first-team opportunities. Vidovšek made his Slovenian PrvaLiga debut against Celje in May 2022, helping Olimpija win 2–0 without conceding. He played a key role in Olimpija’s 2022–23 domestic double, as the club won both the PrvaLiga and Slovenia Cup. His reflexes, handling, 199-centimetre frame and distribution support a modern goalkeeper’s role, while he made his Slovenia debut against Denmark in a Euro 2024 qualifier in June 2023.
