Matteja Veselji

Matteja Veselji is a Maltese left winger who plays primarily from the left flank and prefers his right foot. Born in Zabbar on 14 March 2002, he developed at St Andrews before moving to OFK Beograd's youth ranks in Serbia. Veselji returned to Malta in August 2021, signing for Floriana and beginning a sustained spell with the club. He briefly joined FK Smederevo in early 2025, then returned to Floriana later that year. With Floriana, he has played in UEFA Conference League qualifying matches against Haverfordwest and FC Ballkani, and reached 100 official appearances by March 2026. At international level, Matteja Veselji has represented Malta Under-21 and scored in their 2–1 victory over Andorra in November 2022. His role has also included central-forward and right-sided duties, while his direct running and ability to cut inside provide attacking options.
