Matas Vareika
Matas Vareika is a Lithuanian forward who operates as a left winger. Born in Jonava in 2000, he developed at the National Football Academy in Kaunas before joining FK Žalgiris Vilnius in 2019. With Žalgiris, Vareika was part of the side that won three consecutive Lithuanian league titles from 2020 to 2022. He moved to FC Hegelmann in late 2023 and enjoyed a productive 2024 campaign, scoring 10 goals as the club finished league runners-up. In early 2025, he joined Pyunik Yerevan and scored on his debut against Alashkert, then returned to Žalgiris on loan for the 2026 season. Right-footed and standing 1.74 metres tall, Vareika brings width from the left before cutting inside to combine, cross or shoot, while also contributing to the press. He made his senior Lithuania debut against Gibraltar in March 2024.
