Mike Adrianus Wilhelmus van der Hoorn

Mike Adrianus Wilhelmus van der Hoorn is a Dutch centre-back born in Almere on 15 October 1992. He developed at local clubs SC Buitenboys and FC Omniworld before joining FC Utrecht’s academy in 2006. Van der Hoorn made his professional debut for Utrecht in 2011 and became a regular during the 2012–13 campaign, appearing in 31 league matches and receiving the club’s Player of the Year award. In July 2013, he moved to Ajax, where he competed at a higher level and won the Eredivisie title in 2013–14. His subsequent career included Swansea City and Arminia Bielefeld, adding experience outside the Netherlands. Standing 1.90 metres, Mike van der Hoorn offers size and aerial presence in central defence. He is now part of AEK Larnaca’s squad, continuing a career across several European leagues.
