Micky van de Ven

Micky van de Ven is a Dutch centre-back who represents Tottenham Hotspur and the Netherlands. Born in Wormer in 2001, he joined FC Volendam’s academy at 12 and progressed into the first team. In the 2020–21 season, he captained Volendam and helped the club reach the promotion play-offs. Van de Ven moved to VfL Wolfsburg in 2021 and established himself during the 2022–23 Bundesliga campaign, appearing in 33 of 34 league matches. Tottenham signed him in 2023, and he became an important part of Ange Postecoglou’s high defensive line, using his recovery pace to cover space behind the defence. Primarily a left-sided centre-back, Van de Ven also contributes by carrying the ball forward and making short build-up passes. He started Tottenham’s 2025 Europa League final victory over Manchester United and made a goal-line clearance in the 1–0 win.
