Matěj Valenta

Matěj Valenta is a Czech midfielder who developed at Slavia Praha after joining the academy as a child. In 2017–18, he scored 12 goals in 11 matches for Slavia’s under-19 side, then made his Czech First League debut in 2018. He moved to Ústí nad Labem, where a spell in the second tier gave him regular senior experience. Valenta continued his progression with Dynamo České Budějovice before returning to Slavia in 2022. Subsequent loans at Slovan Liberec and Slovácko helped him pursue first-team minutes and a place in the Czech under-21 setup. He represented the under-21 side at the 2023 European Championship. Valenta later joined Viktoria Plzeň and, after a serious knee injury, rebuilt his career; he is now listed with Hradec Králové.
