Mark Travers

Mark Travers is a Republic of Ireland goalkeeper from Maynooth who stands 191 centimetres tall. He began as a central midfielder with Lucan United before moving through Confey, Cherry Orchard and Shamrock Rovers. In 2016, aged 17, Travers joined AFC Bournemouth after developing through the Irish youth system. A 2017 loan at Weymouth preceded his senior breakthrough, while his Premier League debut came for Bournemouth against Tottenham Hotspur in May 2019, when he kept a clean sheet and made several important saves. Travers became a regular in Bournemouth’s 2021–22 Championship promotion campaign, starting 45 matches and recording 20 clean sheets as the club secured automatic promotion. Competition for the position later brought loan spells at Stoke City and Middlesbrough before he moved permanently to Everton in July 2025. He has also been involved with the Republic of Ireland setup, and his right-footed distribution, concentration and reflexes remain central to his profile.
