Montassar Omar Talbi

Montassar Omar Talbi is a Tunisian defender born in Paris on 26 May 1998. He developed in France with Paris FC and FC Les Lilas before moving to Tunisia at 12 and joining Espérance de Tunis’s academy. Talbi made his professional debut for Espérance in April 2017 and won Tunisian Ligue Professionnelle 1 titles in 2016–17 and 2017–18, as well as the 2017 Arab Club Champions Cup. In 2018, he moved to Çaykur Rizespor, gaining experience in Turkey’s Süper Lig. After signing for Benevento in 2021, Talbi joined Rubin Kazan before moving to Lorient in 2022. Standing 1.90 metres, he provides central defensive presence and aerial strength. Talbi played every minute of Tunisia’s 2022 World Cup group stage, including clean-sheet games against Denmark and France, the latter a 1–0 win. He later helped Lorient win the 2024–25 Ligue 2 title.
