Marco Sportiello

Marco Sportiello is an Italian goalkeeper born in Desio on 10 May 1992. He began playing at Zibido San Giacomo before joining Atalanta’s youth system in 1999. To gain senior experience, he spent the period from 2010 to 2013 with Seregno, Poggibonsi and Carpi. At Carpi, he became a regular during the 2012–13 campaign that ended with promotion to Serie B. Atalanta recalled him, and he made his Serie A debut in January 2014 in a 2–1 victory over Catania. Following Andrea Consigli’s departure, he became Atalanta’s starting goalkeeper for 2014–15 and had recorded 83 Serie A saves by February 2015. Sportiello later played for Fiorentina and Frosinone before joining AC Milan as a free agent in 2023, where he served as a reserve. He returned to Atalanta in 2025, with his 192-centimetre frame, reflexes and penalty-saving reputation defining his profile as an experienced Serie A goalkeeper.
