Mikael Antero Soisalo

Mikael Antero Soisalo is a Finnish midfielder born in Helsinki on 24 April 1998. He developed in the youth systems of FC Honka and HJK Helsinki before moving to Ilves, where he broke into senior football in 2016. His performances for Ilves led to a move to Middlesbrough in January 2017, although he did not make a senior appearance for the English club. Soisalo joined Zulte Waregem in 2018 and later had a brief loan spell with Varzim in Portugal in 2020. In 2021, he moved to Riga, where he gained regular experience in Latvia and appeared in UEFA Conference League qualifying. He joined Puskas Academy in August 2023 and is currently registered with the Hungarian club. At international level, Mikael Soisalo represented Finland from youth age groups through the under-21 team before receiving his first senior call-up in 2022.
