Matej Šimić

Matej Šimić is a Croatian defender born in Split on 29 November 1995. Standing 1.90 metres tall, he began his senior career with NK Dugopolje, making his debut in 2014. He then developed through Spanish football with Orihuela B, Unión Molinense, Torrevieja and Muro CF before joining SD Amorebieta in 2017. Šimić later continued in Spain with Lleida Esportiu, UD Logroñés and Numancia, building extensive experience across the country’s lower divisions. In 2023, he moved abroad to Bulgarian top-flight club FC Krumovgrad, followed by a spell with Romanian side Sepsi OSK. He joined Torpedo Kutaisi in 2025, adding Georgian football and European competition to his career. A tall centre-back, Šimić offers a strong aerial presence and defensive experience while continuing a career shaped by movement across several national leagues.
