Martynas Šetkus
Martynas Šetkus is a Lithuanian centre-back born on 7 October 2005. He developed in the Vilnius football system, spending time with Vilniaus FM and FM Ateitis before continuing his progression at FK Žalgiris Vilnius. In 2022 and 2023, Šetkus gained senior experience with Žalgiris II in Lithuania’s I Lyga, building his game in the club’s reserve structure. He moved into Žalgiris’ senior setup in 2024 and became part of the first-team rotation during the following season. In 2025, he logged about 986 minutes across 19 matches and contributed two assists. Šetkus was involved around the club’s UEFA Champions League and Conference League qualifying campaigns and earned domestic honours with the 2024 Toplyga title and 2025 Lithuanian Super Cup. Internationally, he has represented Lithuania from under-17 level through the under-21s, where he remains part of the squad for European Championship qualifying.
