Matthias Seidl

Matthias Seidl is an Austrian midfielder born in Kuchl on 24 January 2001. He developed at SV Kuchl, joining the club’s youth ranks in 2009 and later helping its senior side win promotion from the Salzburger Liga to the Regionalliga Salzburg in 2019. In 2021, Seidl moved to FC Blau-Weiß Linz, where he established himself in professional football. His 2022–23 season brought the 2. Liga Player of the Season award, while Blau-Weiß Linz won the league title and promotion to the Austrian Bundesliga. Rapid Vienna signed Seidl in June 2023, and he made 32 Bundesliga appearances with five goals in his first season. Used mainly as an attacking or central midfielder, he contributes to build-up play, chance creation and transitions. Seidl debuted for Austria in September 2023 and was included in the squad for UEFA Euro 2024.
