Mirko Salvi
Mirko Salvi is a Swiss goalkeeper born in Yverdon-les-Bains on 14 February 1994. He began at Yverdon-Sport before joining FC Basel’s academy in 2009, progressing through the club’s youth teams and appearing in the NextGen Series. Salvi signed a professional contract with Basel in 2012 and was part of the squads that won the Swiss Super League in 2012–13 and 2013–14. To gain senior experience, he played 35 of 36 Challenge League matches for Biel-Bienne in 2014–15, then moved to FC Lugano, where he established himself in the Swiss top flight. He later spent time with FC Luzern after joining Grasshopper Club Zürich. In December 2015, Salvi entered Basel’s Europa League match against Lech Poznań without a warm-up and kept a clean sheet in a 1–0 victory. After returning to Yverdon-Sport in 2021–22, he rejoined Basel in 2022 and remains part of the club’s goalkeeping group.
