Mikkel Rygaard Jensen

Mikkel Rygaard Jensen is a Danish midfielder, born in Nykøbing Falster on 25 December 1990. He developed with Lolland-Falster Alliancen and Herfølge before joining Charlton Athletic’s academy in 2007. After returning to Denmark, Rygaard rebuilt his career in the lower divisions with Nykøbing and Næstved, where his creative play attracted wider attention. He moved to FC Nordsjælland in 2016 and continued his rise into the Danish top flight. A brief spell with ŁKS Łódź in 2021 preceded his move to BK Häcken in 2022. At Häcken, Rygaard helped the club win its first Allsvenskan title that year and was recognised as the league’s Player of the Year. Operating as an attacking midfielder or advanced interior, he is noted for left-footed passing, set-piece delivery, movement into half-spaces and the ability to progress and control play.
