Merlin Röhl

Merlin Röhl is a German central midfielder born in Berlin on 5 July 2002. He developed at SV Babelsberg 03 before moving to FC Ingolstadt after his performances attracted attention through the Tonsser scouting app. Röhl progressed through Ingolstadt’s youth system and signed his first professional contract in 2020, later scoring his first senior goal against Hansa Rostock. In August 2022, he joined SC Freiburg, where his technical ability and movement continued to develop in senior football. During the 2023/24 campaign, Röhl scored his first Bundesliga goal against RB Leipzig and also found the net in the Europa League against Bačka Topola. He has represented Germany at under-21 level, including in qualifying matches. Röhl subsequently moved to Everton, where his tall frame, ball-carrying and versatility offer options across central and attacking midfield.
