Matheo Raab
Matheo Raab is a German goalkeeper born in Weilburg on 18 December 1998. He developed with SV Wolfenhausen and Sportfreunde Eisbachtal before joining 1. FC Kaiserslautern in 2017. After progressing through the club’s youth and reserve structures, Raab became Kaiserslautern’s first-choice goalkeeper during the 2021/22 season. He recorded 16 clean sheets in 34 matches and helped the team win promotion to the 2. Bundesliga through the play-offs against Dynamo Dresden. In June 2022, he moved to Hamburger SV, where he served mainly as deputy to Daniel Heuer Fernandes while featuring in cup and league matches. Raab joined Union Berlin in July 2025 and was brought into contention for the starting role. His proactive positioning, reflex saves and controlled distribution reflect the demands placed on a modern goalkeeper.
