Mihai Cristian Popescu

Mihai Cristian Popescu is a Romanian defender, born in Câmpulung Muscel on 7 May 1993. He developed at Sporting Pitești before entering Dinamo București’s youth system in 2011. During the early part of his senior career, Popescu gained experience with Dunărea Călărași and Berceni before reaching Dinamo’s first team in 2016. He later moved to Scotland, spending time with St Mirren and Heart of Midlothian, and helped Hearts win the Scottish Championship in 2021. A loan spell at Hamilton Academical followed, adding experience in Scottish football. Returning to Romania, Popescu joined Farul Constanța and contributed to the club’s 2022–23 Liga I title campaign. He subsequently moved to FCSB, where the 1.88-metre centre-back is registered and continues his domestic career.
