Maksim Podholjuzin

Maksim Podholjuzin is an Estonian football defender born in Tallinn on 13 November 1992. He developed at FC Levadia Tallinn and entered the senior setup as a teenager, beginning a long spell in Estonian top-flight football. With Levadia, Podholjuzin contributed to league-winning campaigns in 2013, 2014 and 2021. He was also part of the club’s Estonian Cup triumphs in 2010, 2012, 2014, 2018 and 2021, and Super Cup successes in 2010, 2013, 2018 and 2022. In January 2023, he moved across Tallinn to Kalju Nomme on a free transfer. Primarily a centre-back, Podholjuzin has been described as comfortable distributing from defence, including with longer passes, while his positioning supports interceptions and clearances. He represented Estonia at youth level and made his senior international debut against Gibraltar in March 2014.
