Mattia Perin

Mattia Perin is an Italian goalkeeper born in Latina on 10 November 1992. He developed at Genoa and gained senior experience during a 2011/12 loan spell with Padova in Serie B. Returning to Genoa, Perin established himself as a Serie A starter from 2013, earning recognition for reflex saves, penalty stops and aggressive work off his line. Two ACL injuries, in April 2016 and January 2017, interrupted his progress and ruled him out of Italy’s Euro 2016 squad. In 2018 he joined Juventus, where competition for the starting position made him a trusted deputy. He spent part of his Juventus tenure on loan at Genoa before returning to Turin in 2021 as an experienced alternative. Perin won Serie A titles in 2018/19 and 2019/20, and he started Juventus’ Coppa Italia final victory in 2023/24. At Juventus, Mattia Perin combines close-range shot-stopping with penalty expertise and measured distribution.
