Martín Ismael Payero
Martín Ismael Payero is an Argentine midfielder born in Pascanas on 11 September 1998. He developed at Banfield, making his senior debut in December 2017 before gaining further experience with Talleres de Córdoba on loan. Returning to Banfield, Payero became a regular and recorded three goals and 11 assists across 60 professional matches in 2020/21. His form earned selection for Argentina’s under-23 squad at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. In August 2021, he moved to Middlesbrough, then returned to Argentina on loan with Boca Juniors for the 2022 season. Payero was part of Boca’s squads that won the 2022 Liga Profesional and 2023 Supercopa Internacional, before joining Udinese in 2023 and making 29 appearances with two goals in his first Italian season.
