Manuel Peter Neuer

Manuel Peter Neuer is a German goalkeeper born on 27 March 1986 in Gelsenkirchen. He joined FC Schalke 04’s academy in 1991 and developed there before breaking into the senior side during 2006–07, when he displaced veteran Frank Rost. At Schalke, Neuer established himself as a commanding goalkeeper and helped the club win the DFB-Pokal in 2011. He then transferred to Bayern München, where he became a central figure in a decorated era that included Bundesliga titles, UEFA Champions League victories in 2013 and 2020, and two European trebles. For Germany, Neuer helped win the 2014 World Cup and received the Golden Glove after a tournament noted for his proactive work beyond the penalty area. His distinctive sweeper-keeper style combines early movement to intercept through balls with confident distribution, allowing him to support a high defensive line and initiate attacks. At Bayern München, Neuer has continued to pair penalty-area command and reflex saves with leadership, becoming one of the defining goalkeepers of the modern game.
