Mórits Heini Mortensen

Mórits Heini Mortensen is a Faroese midfielder who has developed through the country’s football system. He represented the Faroe Islands at under-17 and under-19 level, appearing in UEFA European Championship qualifying matches between 2015 and 2018. Mortensen joined NSÍ Runavík’s senior squad in July 2018, having already featured in matchday squads from 2016. With NSÍ, he gained experience in UEFA Europa League and Europa Conference League qualifying rounds, including matches in 2020. He moved to EB/Streymur in January 2025 and played more than 2,300 league minutes that season, scoring once and receiving four yellow cards. After returning to NSÍ Runavík in February 2026, he is now listed with Skála. As a defensive-minded midfielder, he helps protect the defence, disrupt attacks and connect possession through the centre.
