Martin Mikovič
Martin Mikovič is a Slovak defender from Trnava who has spent most of his career with hometown club Spartak Trnava. He joined Spartak’s academy in 1997, progressed through its youth ranks and made his senior debut against FK Senica in April 2010. Initially used mainly as a winger, Mikovič became captain in February 2016 and scored twice in a 3–1 Europa League qualifying win over Sligo Rovers in 2012. In February 2017, he moved to Polish top-flight side Bruk-Bet Termalica Nieciecza, where he recorded 88 league appearances and five goals. He returned to Spartak in August 2020, later settling into a left-back or left wing-back role. Mikovič has combined his attacking background with defensive duties and remains associated with Spartak’s senior squad. His career reflects a long connection with Trnava, a period abroad and a clear evolution from wide attacker to defender.
