Melle Meulensteen
Melle Meulensteen is a Dutch centre-back born in Nijmegen on 4 July 1999. He developed in England, joining Manchester United’s academy before moving to Preston North End in 2014, where he captained the youth side during an FA Youth Cup run and signed his first professional contract in 2017. A loan with Lancaster City later that year gave him early experience of senior football. After leaving Preston by mutual consent in January 2018, Meulensteen returned to the Netherlands and joined RKC Waalwijk. Across more than four seasons, he progressed from prospect to Eredivisie regular before moving to Vitesse in 2022. He subsequently played for Sampdoria in Serie B and returned to the Netherlands in 2025 to join Go Ahead Eagles. At Go Ahead Eagles, Melle Meulensteen can operate centrally in defence or step into midfield, contributing to build-up play through positioning, interceptions and passing.
