Mehdi Merghem

Mehdi Merghem is a French midfielder born in Aubervilliers on 19 July 1997. He developed at LB Châteauroux, where he progressed into senior football and helped the club win the Championnat National title in 2016–17, securing promotion to Ligue 2. Merghem made his professional Ligue 2 debut on 27 July 2017 in a 3–2 victory over Brest. In 2019, he moved to Guingamp, beginning a five-year spell in Brittany that included a stronger 2023–24 campaign, when he scored five Ligue 2 goals. At his best, Merghem carries the ball from wide or deeper positions, cuts inside onto his left foot and combines dribbling with defensive work. He is now listed with Dundee Utd, adding a new chapter to a career that has included progression from the French third tier to professional midfield football.
