Mike Peterson Maignan

Mike Peterson Maignan is a French goalkeeper born on 3 July 1995 in Cayenne, Guyana. He developed at the Paris Saint-Germain academy, signed a professional contract in 2013, but did not make a first-team appearance for the club. In 2015, Maignan moved to Lille, where he eventually became the established first-choice goalkeeper. He helped Lille win the 2020–21 Ligue 1 title, recording 21 clean sheets during that campaign. A transfer to AC Milan followed in 2021, and Maignan contributed to the club’s 2021–22 Serie A triumph while receiving the league’s Best Goalkeeper award. His distribution, high starting position and vocal organization make him an active participant in Milan’s build-up and defensive structure. At international level, he became France’s first-choice goalkeeper after Hugo Lloris’s retirement and played in the team’s run to the Euro 2024 semi-finals.
