Maxime Baila Lopez

Maxime Baila Lopez is a French midfielder born in Marseille on 4 December 1997. He joined Marseille’s academy at 13 and progressed through the club’s youth system before making his professional debut in August 2016. Under Rudi Garcia, Lopez developed into an important first-team option and helped Marseille reach the 2018 Europa League final. In 2020, he moved to Sassuolo on loan, beginning a three-season spell in Italy that later became permanent. At Sassuolo, Lopez evolved from a more advanced creative role into a deeper midfield position, contributing through short passing, ball retention and circulation from the first phase of build-up. He subsequently spent time on loan at Fiorentina, adding another Serie A experience to his career. Lopez is now listed with Paris FC, continuing a path shaped by technical play and positional adaptability.
