Manuel Lazzari

Manuel Lazzari is an Italian defender who developed in Veneto after beginning at Trissino and joining Vicenza's youth system. After spells with Montecchio and Delta 2000, he moved to SPAL in 2013, beginning the rise that would carry him from the lower divisions to Serie A. With Leonardo Semplici's side, Lazzari helped secure successive promotions from the third tier to Serie B and then the top flight. Operating prominently on the right flank, he used his pace and running to provide width and an attacking outlet for SPAL. His Serie A performances led to a senior Italy debut in 2018, and Lazio signed him in July 2019. At Lazio, Manuel Lazzari initially featured as a wing-back in Simone Inzaghi's system and played in the club's 2019 Supercoppa Italiana victory over Juventus. He later adapted to a right-back role in Maurizio Sarri's back four and remains part of Lazio's squad.
