Mirlind Kryeziu

Mirlind Kryeziu is a Kosovo international defender born in Zürich on 26 January 1997. He joined FC Zürich’s academy at seven and progressed through its youth system before beginning senior football on loan at Biel-Bienne, where he debuted in December 2015. After returning to Zürich, Kryeziu made his first-team debut in February 2017 and signed his professional contract soon afterwards. A loan spell with SC Kriens in 2021 provided another step in his development before he re-established himself with FC Zürich. Kryeziu was part of the Zürich side that won the Swiss Super League title in 2021/22, the defining achievement of his club career. He had previously represented Switzerland at youth level, but received his first Kosovo call-up in 2018 and made his senior debut against Georgia in September 2021. Standing 1.96 metres tall, Kryeziu brings a strong aerial presence and defensive reach to the centre of the back line.
