Markus Kolke

Markus Kolke is a German goalkeeper born in Erlenbach on 18 August 1990. He developed at TSV Großheubach and Viktoria Aschaffenburg before joining Eintracht Frankfurt II and then Waldhof Mannheim. At Waldhof, Kolke became the starting goalkeeper during the 2010–11 season and helped the club win the Oberliga championship and promotion to the Regionalliga. He spent eight years with SV Wehen Wiesbaden, taking over as first choice in 2013 and becoming a key figure between the posts. In 2016–17, he saved six of the seven penalties he faced, underlining his reputation in spot-kick situations. Kolke captained Wehen Wiesbaden during its 2019 promotion play-offs to the 2. Bundesliga. He later played for FC Hansa Rostock, serving as captain and helping the club return to the 2. Bundesliga in 2021. In 2024, Kolke joined Werder Bremen.
