Maurits Kjærgaard

Maurits Kjærgaard is a Danish midfielder from Herlev, born on 26 June 2003. At 1.92 metres, he combines a strong physical presence with the technique to influence play from central areas. Kjærgaard developed in Denmark before joining Red Bull Salzburg’s pathway, where he first gained senior experience with FC Liefering in Austria’s second tier. His performances there led to a first-team debut for Red Bull Salzburg in February 2021. Since then, he has established himself in Salzburg’s midfield and helped the club win three consecutive Austrian Bundesliga titles from 2021 to 2023. Kjærgaard progresses possession with his first touch, carries the ball through pressure and uses his left foot to find passes into attacking channels. He also contributes to pressing and defensive coverage, while his ability to move toward the left gives Salzburg useful positional flexibility.
