Matúš Kira

Matúš Kira is a Slovak goalkeeper born in Košice on 10 October 1994. He developed at MFK Snina before making his professional breakthrough with MFK Zemplín Michalovce. Kira helped Michalovce win the 2014–15 DOXXbet liga title and earn promotion to Slovakia’s top flight. He made his Fortuna Liga debut against AS Trenčín on 18 July 2015 and remained with the club through 2020. After a spell at FC ViOn Zlaté Moravce-Vráble in 2021–22, Kira returned to his birthplace, joining FC Košice in July 2022. At Košice, he has contributed as a goalkeeper in first-team and Slovnaft Cup contexts while competing for selection. Kira is described as a ball-playing, sweeper-style goalkeeper, using positioning and distribution to support attacks beyond traditional shot-stopping.
