Martijn Kaars
Martijn Kaars is a Dutch forward born in Monnickendam on 5 March 1999. He began at VV Monnickendam before joining FC Volendam at age 11, then moving to the Ajax academy in 2014. With Ajax, he won the Eredivisie U19 and Jeugdcup U19 titles in 2016–17, but did not make a senior appearance for Jong Ajax. Kaars returned to FC Volendam in 2018, made his Eerste Divisie debut that August, and played there until 2022. He then joined Helmond Sport and developed into a more productive striker, scoring 21 league goals in 2023–24. In 2024, he moved to 1. FC Magdeburg, where 19 league goals in the 2. Bundesliga helped establish him in Germany. Martijn Kaars joined FC St. Pauli in 2025. At FC St. Pauli, he operates primarily centrally and contributes through finishing, movement and energetic pressing.
