Mathias Honsak
Mathias Honsak is an Austrian midfielder born in Vienna on 20 December 1996. He developed with PSV Team für Wien and FK Austria Wien before beginning senior football at FC Stadlau. In 2014, Honsak joined Red Bull Salzburg’s development pathway through FC Liefering, then gained experience on loan at SV Ried and SCR Altach. At Ried, an MCL injury ended his spell prematurely, while his time at Altach broadened his use across midfield and attack. Honsak moved to SV Darmstadt 98 in 2019 and became an important part of the side that won promotion to the Bundesliga in 2023. He joined 1. FC Heidenheim in July 2024, continuing his career in Germany’s top division. Honsak has also represented Austria at senior level, making his debut against San Marino in June 2025.
