Mads Hermansen

Mads Hermansen is a Danish goalkeeper born in Odense on 11 July 2000. He began at Næsby Boldklub as a striker and winger, but moved into goal at ten after Achilles tendinitis prevented him from continuing as an outfield player. Hermansen joined Brøndby in 2015, developed through the academy and served as deputy to Marvin Schwäbe during the 2019/20 and 2020/21 seasons. He was part of Brøndby’s 2021 Danish Superliga-winning squad without making a league appearance, then became first choice after Schwäbe’s departure, making his Superliga debut in July 2021 and his European debut against Red Bull Salzburg. Named Brøndby’s Player of the Year in 2022, he established himself through shot-stopping and composed distribution. Leicester signed Hermansen in July 2023, and he helped the club win the 2023/24 Championship with 13 clean sheets in 44 appearances. He moved to West Ham in August 2025 and has also progressed from Denmark’s youth teams to senior international football.
