Matthew James Healy

Matthew James Healy is an Irish midfielder who developed in County Cork before entering professional football. Healy joined Ipswich Town Academy in July 2018, progressed through its youth sides and signed a contract in 2021, although he did not make a senior league appearance. In February 2022, he moved on loan to Cork City, making 26 league appearances and scoring four goals as the club won the First Division title. After adding 16 appearances and two goals in 2023, Healy left Ipswich and joined Belgian Challenger Pro League side Francs Borains. He made 43 appearances and scored four goals during an 18-month spell there. Healy made his Republic of Ireland Under-21 debut in September 2023 and had earned 12 caps by the end of 2024. In January 2025, he joined Shamrock Rovers, helping them win the League of Ireland Premier Division and FAI Cup while gaining Conference League experience.
