Mats Hammerich
Mats Hammerich is a Swiss midfielder born on 12 February 1998. He developed in Switzerland’s football system before representing his country at under-20 level. Hammerich built substantial experience in the Swiss Challenge League with Neuchâtel Xamax FCS, where he combined defensive midfield work with measured distribution. During the 2023–24 season, he scored once for Xamax while primarily contributing to the team’s defensive structure. On 16 July 2024, he joined FC Vaduz, continuing his career in the Swiss second tier. At Vaduz, Hammerich has operated as a deep-lying central midfielder, screening the defence, breaking up attacks and recycling possession. His 1.83-metre frame supports his work in duels, while his positional discipline and passing help connect defensive phases with attacking transitions.
